A couple of months ago, a crane, apparently mounted incorrectly, fell over.
It seems the base of the crane was fabricated out of a metal frame, rather than
being set in the ground bolted to concrete fixtures. We'd had some pretty
hefty winds, and that might have weakened the framework of the base, and led to
the crash.

 |
At any rate, it was huge news when it happened, and it
was in a currently ("A Crane Crashed In Bellevue")...
Now, they have a new crane up, and construction is continuing
on the building, like nothing ever happened. Right now, they're working on
the core of the building. I'm not sure how high its going, but by the height
of the new crane, it doesn't seem that it will be going up too high...
|
The building that was damaged is also being worked on... it still shows the damage
it took by the crash pretty plainly...
|
 |
 |
They were saying when it happened that they thought the building was a total loss...
but the activity seemed to indicate that they were going to repair the building.
While doing that, they seem to be dressing up the entry way, as well.
|
Hopefully, the anchor to the new crane is more secure, and the work can continue
without any other mishaps...
