It started to rain, then the rain started sounding funny on the window, so I checked
outside, and noticed it was sleeting large enough to be called hail... The air in
the upper atmosphere was VERY Cold, and they'd warned us on the radio that the snow
line may dip under 500 feet... which means we could get some snow. I guess
they were right!

Before too long, the hail was coating the ground... it wasn't "snow", but it was
pretty cool.
Before too long, the hail/sleet was getting deep enough to coat the ground in a
layer of white... not too common around these parts.
On the roof of the building across the way, you could quickly see that it was beginning
to pile up.
After a few minutes it was over... the first bit of frozen precipitation.
A few minutes after that, it began to flurry, then snow.
It was nice... so I snapped a few pictures for Posterity.
By the time it was "dark", about an inch had fallen... our first snow of the new
year.
In all, we got about 3 inches by morning... but that's another story.
