Since the Monday before Thanksgiving, I've been working in downtown
Seattle... finding places to eat lunch has been an adventure in
itself... I ran across this little place, and really enjoyed it - so
much so that I took some pictures of the place.
On one of the pages of their menu, they have the "original" menu that
they opened with, back in the early 1900's.
I thought it was interesting that a Peanut Butter Sandwich was the
same price as a Hamburger, and a Cottage Cheese Sandwich... and that a
"Lettuce and Tomato" sandwich was even more expensive than either of
those... as was a "toasted American Cheese" sandwich.
It was a "bar and grill"... I'm sure I would NOT have enjoyed it
nearly as much if Washington allowed 'indoor smoking'...
The cafe is basically in the shadow of the Space Needle.
Its also right in front of the statue of Chief Seattle.
There's a picture of the venerated Chief on the wall, along with
images showing the installation of the Chief's statue.
I enjoyed the food, and it had a great location...
I'm sure that if I stay on at the client's site for a while, then the
people who work there will soon know who I am! :-)
