I went to the last preseason game of the Seahawk season... The Seahawks played host to the Oakland Raiders, who at one time were in the same division as the Seahawks, and a fierce rival.  We're in the NFC now, and while the rivalry has cooled, the fans are as rowdy as ever!  The Shadow Lady had to work, so I took Les with me.

 It was a work night, but that's OK... its FOOTBALL!

They were awesome.  I only went through the line once, but I took two, I'll have to admit... they were GOOD!

This display, put on by Qwest, has all of the helmets of the state's high school football teams... it was pretty cool.

LOTS of people came to the game...

The view of the city is pretty impressive from the stadium... and the stadium itself is pretty impressive!

There's quite a lot of room, and even when most folks were milling about, it wasn't too crowded.

We got there 2 hours before the game, and there were people there already... we watched the players warm up and do their drills for a bit... then checked out Ivar's.

My friend Jerry was at the game with his son... he was sitting only 4 rows or so in front of where mine were... out of 50,000+ seats, the odds of that are pretty impressive!

The Seahawks seemed pretty pumped up... the Raiders had won all their preseason games coming into the game, while the Seattle team were 1 and 2... not that it matters much, but there ARE bragging rights - a win is still a win.

The Seahawks came out under a burst of fireworks...

... the 12th man flag went up...

The honors went to Johnson, a former player was a great kicker in his day.

...and the game got under way.

I guess you know what happened...

Alexander got a great ovation when he came out of the game... he was awesome!

The sunset was pretty impressive, too... almost the same view from my seats in Safeco Field...

Touchdown Seahawks!

Very nice.  The run ended a 16-play, 89 yard drive across the field - by the backup team.  Nice to know there's some depth!

The band and the drum were rocking all night!

The Seahawks dominated pretty much every aspect of the game.  They held the Raiders to less than 20 yards total offense at half time, and under 100 the whole game...

They won pretty handily, 30-7.

It doesn't count, but it was nice to see they're fairly ready for the upcoming season, that's for sure!

Heading out was a bit of a nightmare...  It took over an hour to get out of the parking lot.  Oh, well... gave us time to listen to the post game show, and enjoy the freaks walking by...

It was an awesome afternoon and evening... a nice taste of the season to come!
