The Shadow Lady and I went to the last game of the home stand, against
the Angels. We got to the stadium early, and enjoyed the extra time
chatting, catching up on work, and watching batting practice. The
game was pretty good... Lackey pitched pretty well, which bodes well for
the M's last year, and the crowd wasn't too bad, once it showed up... we
had a great evening, relaxing in the cool end-of-the-summer breeze until
it got a bit too cool, then we went into the Terrace Club, and watched
the rest game from there... in all, it was a nice evening at the Park.

Hmmm... Mariner GM Bill Bavasi was chatting it up with this guy, who
was in the Angel's dugout. They talked for quite a while, then
went off the field and down the chute together...
Shop talk, I'm sure... but I hadn't seen him out there like that
during batting practice before.
|
I don't know who it was, but this guy was creaming the balls during
batting practice! He was really sending them out there!
|
 |
 |
The roof closed during the batting practice... it really clouded up,
and was getting pretty dark and foreboding.
|
I don't know why, but I have a picture of these guys watering the
infield for just about every game I've been to this year...
|
 |
 |
Right before the game started, the roof opened back up.
It stayed open for the whole game. It didn't rain, but it got a
bit breezy, and the temperature dropped quite a bit.
Towards the latter half of the game, we went into the Terrace Club,
and watched the game from there.
|
The grounds crew have a new dance routine... those guys sure get a
lot of mileage out of that!
|
 |
 |
The M's did pretty good during the game. Lackey held the score
down, and the M's scored fairly regularly.
|
This is just after a nice slide. The M's player knocked the
ball out of the catcher's glove to score.
Sweet.
The M's gave the lead back in the 8th or so... and never got it back.
It was still a fun night, though!
