After a year and a half or so, The Shadow Lady and I got married.
We held the ceremony in our church, and our senior pastor presided.
A lot of friends from work and church came to the wedding, as well as a
whole bunch of her relatives, and my
mom managed to be able to make it... it was an awesome ceremony,
and a great day!Linda, a lady from Gig Harbor who went to Guatemala
with us and who helps run "Bea's Flowers", did the flowers for us...
she did an amazing job!

Here's me, Les, and Jerry, friends from work, waiting for the Shadow
Lady to make her appearance. Les gave an awesome speech at the
reception, and Jerry was excellent at calming me and Les down...
we're not the "public" type, and we don't like suits very much...
Jerry held us together.
Rob, my life-long friend from my Army days, came up, and escorted my
mom, helped, and generally took care of things. He also took
these pictures.

Here comes the Bride.
We sang a hymn, then to the tune of the same hymn, The Shadow Lady
and her dad made their way down the isle... she was STUNNING!

The vows and the rings.
We wrote our own vows together, and the pastor led us through them...
I almost passed out, actually, at this point... I guess I wasn't
breathing or something... I didn't hear what the pastor said one
time, and had to dig deep, real quick, and remember what we had
written, and say it... I made it, though. :-)
|
Sealed with a kiss.
Yeah, it was awesome.
The ceremony lasted about 30 minutes... but I don't remember any
passage of time. I was pretty nervous about messing up until
this point, then things started settling down for me.

The new couple! We now head out on a new life together.
We went to Iceland for our honeymoon, mostly because its different,
and because it has so much of what we like there... cool weather,
ocean shores, lighthouses, glaciers, volcanoes, geysers,
waterfalls... it was very nice!
Walking down the isle together, I had to be careful not to trip on
her dress... I made it to the end of the isle, then nearly wiped out
after I realized I had stepped on it... I was worried about damaging
it or pulling it down... either of which wasn't a great prospect...
