2006.06.29 - Sunset at Alki

On the way home, I decided on a whim to head over to Alki to watch the sunset... I thought it was going to be a good one... I had no idea just how good it would be - it was awesome!

We walked along the water front for a while, finally scoring an empty bench, and sat, talked, and soaked in the beauty of God's handiwork...

The sunset was incredible!  It was one of the nicer one's we spent watching together.
The buildings were reflecting the light of the waning sun on the water... adding to the image before us...

The colors gave everything an interesting glow.

We walked around for a bit after the sun dipped below the Olympics... the anchor never looked so good!  It was found in the 1950's by the Northwest Divers Club.  No one knows which sailing ship it came from.  At 4400 pounds, it must've been difficult to recover!
One odd thing was watching a ferry get "pulled over" by two police boats... it was very odd.  The boats followed the ferry to the docks.  It was pretty dark, so I had difficulty in getting a non-blurry picture...

I didn't hear anything in the news about it, so I don't know what it was all about.

The excitement did little to detract from the view... it was to awesome!
