2006.03.31 - Shooting up the Place

After a movie, I swung through the arcade.

I spent a fair amount of years in the Army, as everyone knows, and while I was in, I shot expert with the .45 and the 9mm hand guns that I was assigned.  I mentioned that while checking out a game that was some sort of "Police Simulator", where the shooter ran trough a course, shooting bad guys.

Prompted by the Shadow Lady and my friend Don, I went ahead and dropped in a couple of quarters and gave it a go...

It was a fun game...

It had a fairly vigorous stressor to it: you had to sort by most dangerous, and there was about a 2-3 second delay before the bad guy shot at you, which eroded your "life".  Once you cleared an area, you'd move on to the next spot.

It almost felt I was back on the range...

After shooting my way through most of the course , and finally using up my "life", I ended up coming in 4th place - not bad for never having played the game, and only using one set of quarters...

I was most proud of my 95% accuracy (they must have not counted shooting a bad guy twice as a hit for the second shot)... Its nice to know I still have it in me...

The funniest thing about it?  I missed the "M", and hit "N" instead... how's THAT for accuracy!  :-)
