I went with the Shadow Lady and her family to the 'family Christmas
parties'... it was my first opportunity to meet those on her dad's side,
and a great opportunity to visit with those on her mom's side, whom I've
had the opportunity to become fairly familiar with. We drove down to Grays Harbor County in the morning, and visited with the Shadow Lady's Grandma, who was hosting the party, which she does every year. It was a fun time to visit with everyone all at once, which doesn't happen that often. |

| We talked, sang some carols, and ate too much food... It was a great lead-in for Christmas, and you could really see how happy she was to have everyone there! |

After that, it was off to the store for last minute items, then up to
Thurston County for a visit with the Shadow Lady's Dad's side of the
family -- I hadn't met any of them, other than one of the cousins... and
there were LOTS of people to meet! Again, we all had a great time, and we all ate too much food... but it was nice to finally be able to meet everyone, and to see everyone enjoying being all in one place, which, again, never seems to happen as often as we'd like it to. |

I was the "picture guy" for the picture with the cousins... I had 5 cameras... plus my own... I took one with mine, just in case I botched everyone else's up, and they wanted a copy of mine. | |||||||

There were a couple of group photos, as more and more people showed up...
Towards the end, everyone picked from a hat, then chose from the pool of gifts, white elephant style. There were lots of laughs, and I, for one, had a great time! |

From there, it was back up to the Seattle area, and to church for the
Candle Light Service, to hail in our celebration of the Creator, which
after all, is what this is all about. Pastor Greg's family lit the final Advent Candle, then the choir came up and led all of us in a series of carols. I didn't sing with them because my throat is raw from a cold... I would have sounded more hideous than I did anyway! |

| Pastor Jim then led us in the Christmas classic "Silent Night", after telling us the story behind the song... An organ was out, and the church needed a song to worship for Christ's arrival that could be played without it, so a song was written for a guitar.... | ||||||||

Pastor Greg then reminded us about what the season means for us, and the
World, and with a reminder that we are to let our light shine, we hailed
the coming of Christmas with the light of our candles. It was a long, but awesome day... a Christmas Eve I will remember for a long, long time! |
