The Washington Husky Girls Volleyball Team is ranked 2nd in the nation.
They played host to the Bears from California, who were ranked 10th. I don't know a whole lot about Volleyball, and what rules I thought I knew changed, so I knew even less than I thought I did... but, I had a great time! We got there during warm-ups... the two teams rotated in 10 minute blocks, taking turns and doing pretty much the same routines: setting up, blocking, and spiking. The band was pretty hyped up, it seemed... they were enjoying themselves. |

The crowd was REALLY into it!
There were signs of various sorts all over the stadium. About 3,500 people showed up for the game... pretty impressive, I thought. |

The bears served first... Right from the start, it was intense. |

It seemed for the most part that the Huskies were more disciplined. The Shadow Lady, a Volleyball player herself, commented that the Bears were at times "High School". |

But, the Huskies couldn't put it away, either.
In fact, they traded games, with the scores fairly close... they were pretty evenly matched, it seemed. |

The Huskies definitely set things up better, and held their positions more
cleanly. Both sides had problems with placing the ball where they wanted to, though. The Huskies also had more than a few net violations, which I thought was weird. |

| It got pretty exciting as time wore on... as each game went by, they got more and more intense. | ||||||||

There were only a couple of Aces... but some of the serves were VERY well placed! | |||||||

The two teams battled back and forth... there were some tremendous serves. I don't know her name or anything, but #21 sure put everything into her serves... it was pretty impressive! |

For the last game, you definitely could tell all the stops were out. Both teams really showed a lot of energy... I'm really glad I caught the Stuff that #3 did... it was real sweet. The Bears had been doing that all night. Payback must've felt good! |

|
For the last point, the "W's" were out... The crowd crossed its middle
fingers, which made sort of a "W"...
The 'game point' was served up by the Huskies... 15-8, 3 games to 5. It was a great match! We're already making plans for when they return home to play again... |
