2005.09.27 - Our Last Game of the 2005 Season
< Back to Currently

We bought a pair of 16-game pack tickets at the beginning of the season, and actually made it to most of them, plus a couple of others.  The one's we didn't go to, we gave to the shadow lady's sisters, so we got our worth out of them.  But, everything comes to an end (well, except God, and our soul's eternity, of course), and we had come to the last game in our pack.

I parked "Edgar" next to a Ford Escape... and compared similarities... they're the same, except for the add-ons available, and the way the trim looks...

After checking out the trucks, we walked across the sky bridge, and into Safeco Field for our last game.

We had gotten there a bit later than we had wanted to... it was striking to see how few people there were at the game...

They are on track for a second 100-loss season in the row, but still.

It was a good game... The Rangers got one in the first, but Hernandez calmed down, and started to close the door... in the 4th, the M's managed to tie it up.

On the picture on the left... you can faintly see the ball's streak in the green...

For fun, we kept score... I scored the top half of the innings, and She kept the score for the Mariner's half... we'll probably do that next year, as well... it was fun, and it keeps you closer to the game.

At the end of 9... it was tied up at two apiece, and we got to enjoy some 'bonus ball'.  Almost no one left the game as it got close to the 9th... I guess we were all die-hards, and the rest stayed home.

But, it wasn't meant to be.  The Rangers got a run in the top of the 11th, and the Mariners couldn't respond...

So, the season that wasn't ends... better luck next year!  I really do think it'll have some promise... there's great talent, they just haven't gotten it all together yet.

At least the Red Sox are still alive!
