2005.09.26 - A walk along Queene Anne Hill
< Back to Currently

We worked late one Monday, and on the way home, we were marveling at the Sunset, so I decided to drive across the bridge into Seattle, to try and catch a good view of the Seattle Skyline from the Kerry Park Viewpoint, on Queen Anne Hill.

Unfortunately, I didn't have my 'good' camera, so the pictures are a bit lacking, but they came out fair enough, I guess, to be able to tell just how great the view actually was...

We walked down the street along the crest of Queen Anne Hill, to another park, Marshall Park, and the Betty Bowen Viewpoint.  It was just a time to get out, walk around for a bit, and enjoy each other's company before ending a long day at work.

It was awesome.

Its a popular location, but it wasn't too crowded, and after a few moments standing mesmerized by the view, you seem to become less and less aware of anyone else, except the person you're with.

I've been to Queen Anne, and looked at this same view many times... none were as good as it was on this day.

The view of the Olympics across the Sound made it worth walking the gauntlet created by the chestnut trees along the sidewalk... they were dropping their wares in the slight breeze that was blowing.  Several dinged cars, trashcans, or the ground closer to us than we'd like, but we made it OK.

Yep... that's our shadow.
