After a long week, we decided to end it by going to a Tacoma Rainier's
game... it was the last Friday game of the season, and the birthday of a
friend of ours, AND another friend was bringing his family... how could
we NOT go? A combination of month-end (an accounting term I've unfortunately become familiar with) and traffic combined to make us a bit late... we did walk into the stadium at the start of the second inning, though, so it wasn't too bad at all. |

Cheney Stadium lets you get right down on top of the game... for only $5. Its also great to see 'tomorrow's' players... only with the Mariners, that literally can mean TOMORROW! The M's have grabbed most of the 'good' players from the team... but it still has managed to remain 2 games up on everyone, with only two games to go... That's promising news for the upcoming seasons! |

It was a VERY good game... the Rainiers bunted, got some great hits to the
corners, stole bases... basically, played good, strong baseball.
They won 6-1, which probably taints my opinion a bit, but they did play
a very good game. It was a great day for baseball, too... the temperature was just right, and the sunset was quite nice! The "shadow lady" got a great picture of Jerry trying to score some 'cheap plastic trinkets' he makes fun of everyone making a big deal about... |

After the game... the final fireworks display. They do one for every
Friday home game. I don't know how much that costs, but I hope
they don't end it soon... its a great tradition! The display was a very good one... |

After the fireworks display, we all made our way out of Cheney Stadium.
For me, it was the last game of the season (I might try a post season
game, but I'm not sure how the schedule will work out). On the way home, we swung by the waterfront, and enjoyed the view for a bit. |
