The next ticket in our Game Pack treated us to a look at the newest
arrival from Tacoma: Victor Hernandez, the 19 year old fast-baller who
created a complete sensation when he arrived in the Bigs... This was to be
his second game with the M's, and everyone just KNEW he was going to do
well. We took the bus to the field... it picked us up basically across the street from work, and dropped us off about 2 blocks away from the stadium. It was a GREAT evening! Mid 70's, no humidity, not a cloud to speak of... |

You know... Things just taste better in a ball park..
As we were entering the park, and heading to our seats, we noticed that even the Alaskan Way Viaduct looks pretty in a nice sunset! The roof, obviously, was open... baseball, outside, in August. For everything else, there's Mastercard! |

The game moved right along. Hernandez DID do awesome, at one point
getting 8 outs in a row. He held the shutout into the 8th inning, and he hadn't thrown 100 pitches yet... he had 70% strikes, and his speed was still in the 90's with the last batter he faced! It was awesome! When "Every Day" Eddie came in the 9th to close it up, it was still light out... the game took 1 minute longer than two hours. |
