My friend Jerry couldn't use a set of tickets to the Tacoma Rainiers he
had come across, so he gave them to me... I invited another friend, John,
and his wife to the game, and they came...
It was John's first return to Cheney after 34 years... he grew up in
Tacoma, but moved a bit away, and hadn't made it back to the park.
His comment? "It hasn't changed much..."
AAA ball, under the lights, in August... doesn't get much better than
that on a week night, that's for sure! |

A game in the bleachers at Cheney means you're going to get hit with
plastic stuff... various vendors toss trinkets into the crowd periodically
throughout the game...
The game was very well played. The Rainiers pulled out to a 5 run
lead, and pretty much held it through the game... Victor Herandez pitched
a GREAT game... he's due to move up, I'm sure of it.
We had a great time visiting, chatting, watching Mt Rainier during the
sunset and enjoying the game... It was a fantastic August night. |
