We went in on partial season tickets to Safeco Field, and as a bonus for
ourselves, we picked up opening day tickets...
BASEBALL HAS RETURNED!!! All is good with the world again... for the next 5 months, my evenings will be spent with Rick and Dave (the voices of the Mariners), and some of them will be spent here... at SAFECO FIELD, home of this season's World Series Champions! |

Smoke, flashing lights, fireworks, and a run down the red
carpet, the Mariners of 2005 were introduced to the sold out
crowd...
The band "Presidents of the United States" opened the festivities, and entertained the crowd before the game began. |

Just as the game part of the Opening Game was getting ready to start, they
opened the Roof...yeah, I was pretty thrilled! Ichiro got a Gold Glove, and a trophy for the most hits in a single season... It was a beautiful day for baseball... a bit chilly, but that didn't matter much |

Edgar was on hand to throw in the first pitch, to non e other than Dan Wilson... | |

Jamie Moyer started the season off for the Mariners, his first pitch was a
ball, but he won the game, so that's a VERY good thing. He also
struck out 4 batters, so he had pretty good control, especially for
early in the season. Ichiro started off the offense, batting in his familiar first position... The grounds crew danced a jig on one of their outings to clean up the infield... it was Great! |

Moyer pitched a good game, and "Every Day Eddie" Gordado
closed the game off for the win and save We had a fantastic time... but how could we not? Baseball is back, and we were a part of it! |
