A way to keep everyone up to date

Every time I look at this page, I always promise myself that I'm going to do better about keeping this page up to date... but I never seem to find the time.  Once again, I'll promise to try to do better...

Now, if I can only find the time to keep this page current...  Check here every so often, and hopefully, you'll be kept up on what's going on...

2003.12.30 - Snow in the lowlands... AGAIN!
It snowed just in time to end the year on a "white" note... a cold air pocket swung in from Alaska at the same time an offshore low was blowing in a marine layer... just the combination needed for the white stuff!

2003.12.12 - Team trip to Red Hook
Every so often, something "odd" happens, something out of the ordinary that surprises you... well, our team's Christmas outing was one of them... our manager, Reid, suggested that we go to Red Hook's Pub, at the Brew House, and take a tour... we, of course, COULDN'T turn that down!

2003.11.26 - Long Commute
Traffic is ALWAYS bad around here, but the day before Thanksgiving is the worst! I got to drive about 60 miles in a 100 - mile backup...  which went from Centrailia to Lynwood

2003.11.20 - Snow in Olympia
Its been pretty cold recently, and we even had SNOW!  Its been two years since it snowed down in the lowlands... so to us, its a big deal!

It didn't snow much... but it was still pretty cool.

2003.11.08 - A trip to see the Humpies, take 2
A couple of weeks ago, I went on a road trip to go see the Salmon run... and didn't see anything.  Not to be thwarted, I went out again, to a different river, and finally ran across what I was looking for...

2003.10.24 - LOTS OF RAIN

As you all know, I it tends to rain here, and I like it... but we got 5 inches of rain in one day!  That's a bit much, to put it mildly.  That did fill up the reservoirs, and make up for summer shortages, but we're beginning to wonder what the winter has in store for us...

Take a look at the rain!

2003.10.11 - Out on a Saturday Drive
The 'hump' of a humpie breaks the surface as the Coho Salmon makes its way up a shallow areaI took advantage of a "Liquid Sunshine" Saturday, and took a drive up into the Cascades, on the premise to check out the Salmon run.

The salmon were a bust... there weren't that many.  But, the trip was fun, and I got to see some nice scenery, and I even learned some stuff, so it was a fun trip!

Check out some pics of the trip

I decided I'd go to a "Teaser - Detail" format, to provide more information, but also allow for the "currently" page to load faster...

2003.07 - San Juans
I took a trip to the San Juan Islands out in the Puget Sound, separated from the hustle and bustle of the metro area, Island County is a great change of pace!
The island of San Juan has some amazing scenery!

Spending the 4th in Friday Harbor, the largest city on San Juan, was quite spectacular.

2003.04 - Moving Cubes
We moved our cubes - AGAIN - at work.

It only took a couple of days to get the lights above my cube removed... this time, us "mushroom" folks grouped ourselves together, and the whole region is now without lighting.

We call it the "Bat Cave"

2003.01 - Men's retreat
I went to a men's retreat sponsored by my church... 4 days of good fellowship, good singing, good preaching, and good times. The camp is owned by the churches in the area, and set up for that purpose.
2002.12 - XMas in San Antonio
I went to Texas for Christmas.  I'd never been there, and I jumped at the opportunity to go...   I FINALLY got to see the Alamo!&nbCheck out the pictures in Texas on the "SouthMidWest" pics page.
