December 30
The sun was kind to The Mountain this morning. A small steam plume rises from the hot rock of the new dome, which continues to grow at an amazing rate.

December 29
The windstorm is STILL being felt on some parts of the Island - its been 14 days, now! Here's an update from our town's website - I think its funny they harp on the "don't go hogwild on the trees"...

December 27
President Gerald Ford died earlier today. Not a great president, but not a bad one either. He was the right man for the right time; he was in a tough spot and made the best of it.

December 18
Our lights came back on late Sunday night. Cable was back a few hours later. We had hot water again fairly quickly, which provides our heating, and hot showers... it was nice!

December 17
We're still without power at our place.  We're doing fine, though... so no worries there.

December 15
We had an exciting bit of weather yesterday and last night.  A storm, stretching from Southern Alaska to Northern California and sporting hurricane force winds - Category 2, no less, swept over the Pacific Northwest yesterday afternoon and overnight, really tearing up the place.

December 14
ere's the view I had heading in to work the other day... I'm a consultant, and right now, I'm in downtown Seattle, so that means I get to drive across the I-90 floating bridge to head to work.  A couple of days ago, I got to enjoy this image.

December 12
My job has some perks... one is that I get to work in different locations from time to time.   Today I'm working in the "Tower", which gives me the opportunity to enjoy a nice view of the city.

December 5
Last night, I had the opportunity to take in the following view, when walking to where I parked Gar... I worked until past 5pm at the coffee shop, and the sun had already set...

December 4
When we were driving to go to the Redmond Town Center, the Shadow Lady noticed this interesting pattern in the sky...

December 4
To me, this billboard is just plain wrong...

December 3
We got our first Christmas Card of the year!

November 30
Its true.  I'm one of the rare lucky people who is doing EXACTLY what he wants to do for a living, and am enjoying it COMPLETELY... there isn't anything I'd rather be doing.

November 29
So I was driving over to pick up The Shadow Lady at the Park and Ride on Mercer Island on Monday Night, right as the game – and the snow – was starting.

November 24
I
'm not one who peruses "YouTube" very often, but the Shadow Lady sent me this link, and thought it was funny... and so do I!

November 23
HAPPY THANKSGIVING, Everyone!

November 21
We don't get very many electrical storms here in the Puget Sound area... but when we do, its a cool thing to watch!

November 16
I came across this article in the Times... not normally a rag that I find things in that I agree with...

November 14
The Shadow Lady and I were reading last night, and this struck us as pretty funny..

November 13
Today is the 100th day of being married.  I'm TOTALLY living a dream!

November 9
Here's a link my cousin pointed me to that takes an interesting new view of the 9/11 disaster.>

November 7
So I quit my job yesterday.>

November 7
I get emails from "InfoWorld", an Ad-driven rag that includes techie stories so that geeks in the business world will accept them, read some of the articles, and hopefully check out some of the ads.

November 2
John Kerry's Flap (class="" href="http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,226820,00.html" target=_blank>FoxNews Story) caused a stir among soldiers out on the frontier of freedom...

October 28
was walking to Barnes and Nobles during my lunch break the other day, and took this picture with my phone of the construction of the Lincoln Tower.

October 27
OK... I mentioned before that, at home, I have a nice computer - an ASUS-driven AMD Dual Core that flies like the wind... its FAST!  My old computer, a 2gHz Intel, was pretty fast, too...

October 26
A foreign finance company and an American finance company decided to have a canoe race on the Missouri River. Both teams practiced long and hard to reach their peak performance before the race. On the big day, the foreign finance company won by a mile. The Americans, very discouraged and depressed, decided to investigate the reason for the crushing defeat.

October 26
Another Maxism - Angels watching over you

October 23
I was heading home last week after a trip to the dentist, and took this picture of a car outside Jack in the Box, where I was headed to get a pop so I could take something to knock the pain off (Nothing Fancy... Just Motrin).  I looked around in the eatery, but no one "Looked" like the owner, and no one seemed to care that I was checking out their car on the way in, so I don't know who's it was... but it was pretty cool.

October 19
Here's an image from the USGS... its a "Time-Depth" plot over the last 10 years, for Mt Rainier, the friendly, neighborhood volcano.

October 17
I LIKE this quote

October 14
This was an amazing story, and I just had to share it. You see stuff like this in the movies, but when it happens for real... its so much more powerful.

October 12
Here's a shot of the Lincoln Tower #2... the future home of Eddie Bauer, which was founded in the Northwest in 1920.  Microsoft, it seems, has rented whatever EB isn't going to take up

October 11
When Les and I were walking to a Football game the other day, we noticed this vacuum cleaner.

October 11
So, after securing the Shadow Lady's blessing, I went and picked up a new laptop.  Not a big deal, really... its a laptop with a small screen - in fact, its only 8 inches across.  Small by today's standards.  In the realm of "powerhouse" laptops, this one doesn't really show up.

October 11
OK... not a picture to send home to mom or anything... but this is bus stop is pretty cool...  its hard to believe they spent so much money on a place where folks will wait for a bus.

October 4
I was back at the dentist's office today.  Not the funnest place to be, to be sure!

OK... so Accuweather is saying we're on the upswing as far as hurricanes go... warmer water temperatures have caused more hurricanes.

March 30
The Ft St Vrain nest now has 3 little ones!!!  It really looks like this year's season of "Eagle Camming" is going to be GREAT!  I have my "Web Cam Grabber" Fired up, and every 15 minutes or so, a picture is snapped of 9 or so "Bird Cams" across the country... I REALLY enjoy it

March 30
I  got to work this morning, and this little guy was running.  I have NO idea how, because I haven't seen "Mr Clippy" in longer than I can remember -- I didn't even know he was still around!  I thought he went to join Microsoft Bob (remember that fiasco???) on a trip into memory lane.

March 30
I got a package today at work.  Seems I won in a contest of sorts, which was amazing... give them your email address, and they'll do a drawing and send the winners a book.

March 4
Driving out to the Pass for an afternoon of snow shoeing, we decided to stop for a quick bite to eat, and since there wasn't a line, we picked Burger King.

February 26
Every so often, you'll see something that will spark a "wow" out of you, even though what you're looking at isn't all that great...

February 24
Somewhat rare in these parts, we had a rainbow caused by ice crystals in the clouds as the sun was setting... the pictures don't do it justice, but it was a pretty striking site.

February 24
I went to a movie with Les, a buddy of mine at work, and noticed a picture of what looked like prop wash from a ferry...

February 24
As I was leaving work, I noticed that the darkened sky was just light enough to provide a backdrop for the building where I work... so at a red light, I stuck my camera out the sunroof of my Mariner, and took this picture of the Bellevue Skyline...

February 18
The Shadow Lady and I, on a whim, decided to drive down to Rainier, Oregon, to pick up a Power Ball ticket for a shot at the $365 - you can't win if you don't play, after all!

February 17
My friend Don had a birthday, and we took him out to Las Margarita's, a eatery by our workplace, and had a great time... Don even was OK with the birthday hat being put on him!

February 13
I got my Seattle Mariners' opening day tickets in the mail!!!  AWESOME!!!

February 8
Back from Guatemala's 70+ degree weather, and now we're talking TEENS!

February 7
Back from my missionary trip to La Esperanza, Guatemala!  I got to meet with the people, who are truly amazing, as well as help them in the fields planting their pea crop, fellowship with them, learn from them, and discover some things about myself that weren't as apparent to me as they are now.

February 1
This is Francisco Toma Rodriquez, husband and father of three children.  He is a wounded veteran of the civil war that wracked Guatemala for 36 years, leaving  the indigenous populations - and everyone else - of the country in near economic ruin.

January 11
I dropped The Shadow Lady off at her place after work, then drove home.  Nothing odd about that, unless you count that it was past 7, and we had worked more than 12 hours... but then, I guess that's not odd for us, either.

January 6
I hired the COIT guys to come clean the carpet at my friend's apartment, where I've been staying.

January 2
Well, I've gone 7,000 miles in my Mercury Mariner.    The 7K line was crossed just as I was passing by Ft Lewis, heading North to end my New Year's weekend break... after having the little Mariner just over 3 months - a bit under average, actually, for the amount of miles I typically drive.

January 1
What a year 2005 was, eh?
